Wednesday, June 2
"C!" BACDS kicks off the month with two dances on the second: there's a contradance at GNC led by Petaluma caller Jerry Allen, with music by an Open Band led by Chuck Aronson, Bobbi Nikles, and Rebecca King...

... and in San José, there's the penultimate English dance of the season at SJS, with Jody McGeen and Alan Winston together leading the dance, to the delightful music of Greenwich Mean Time (Vaughn Wolff, Kay Thorne, Stanley and Susan Kramer).

Friday, June 4
First Friday Palo Alto dance downtown at MT. Series host Bob Fraley teaches you what you need to know, music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer) .

Saturday, June 5
The SF contra at SF, natch, has caller Warren Blier, with music by the spritely sextet Québecquasi (Kevin Carr, John Hamstra, Caroline Cirimele, Barbara Mendelsohn, Laurie Rivin, Daniel Steinberg).

Wednesday, June 9
It's a second Wednesday already--English country in Berkeley at Greenwich Mean Time (Vaughn Wolff, Kay Thorne, Stanley and Susan Kramer). David Newitt calls, music by Charlie Hancock, Laurie Edelman, and Avis Minger.

Friday, June 11
The monthly Friday Berkeley contra at FIN : host Kirston Koths calls, with music by The Contrabandits (Kathrine Gardner, Chris Knepper, Charlie Hancock, and Kit Nelson) .

Saturday, June 12
The San Francisco English dance at BET starts at 7:30, and features Bruce Hamilton in a rare calling appearance, with music by Bangers & Mash (Susan and Stanley Kramer, David Strong and Craig Johnson) .

And to the south, the Palo Alto contra at PA--Kirston Koths calling, to the wonderful stringband sound of ".gals".

Sunday, June 13
& It being a second Sunday, there's the East Bay square and contra dance at ECV, starting at 7pm. Both series hosts tonight: Jim Saxe calling, and Kathrine Gardner playing tunes, along with Dan and Karen Warrick.

Wednesday, June 16
The San José English country dance's last hurrah before it goes into estivation through the end of August. A special part, featuring Jody McGeen and friends teaching the dance, with music by the inimitable Greenwich Mean Time (Vaughn Wolff, Kay Thorne, Stanley and Susan Kramer).

Regular 3rd Wednesday contra at Greenwich Mean Time (Vaughn Wolff, Kay Thorne, Stanley and Susan Kramer) in Berkeley: series host Erik Hoffman calls, with music served up by ".gals".

Friday, June 18
Palo Alto English country dance at MT. Bob Fraley and Lise Dyckman share the dancingmaster duties, music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer) .

Saturday, June 19
The San Francisco contra at SF--featuring Charlie Fenton and the return of Faultline (Betsy Branch, Paul Kotapish and Bobbi Nikles). Don't miss it!

Wednesday, June 23
Berkeley's fourth Wednesday contra at GNC features Alan Winston teaching with music by the talented trio of Chuck Ward, Judy Linsenberg, and David Strong.

Friday, June 25
San Francisco contra at SF: Charlie Fenton calls to the decidedly Irish beat of Tipsy House (Jack Gilder, Chris Knepper and Junji Shirota).

Saturday, June 26
The fourth Saturday experienced dance at GNC in Berkeley. Bob Fraley calls, to the music of Bangers & Mash (Susan and Stanley Kramer, David Strong and Craig Johnson) ... and the theme is "food".

The Fairfax contra takes its monthly bow, with Stuart Moody calling and music by Erik Hoffman and Jerry Allen.

Palo Alto contra at PA, with Kimberly McKittrick calling, and music by Tipsy House (Jack Gilder, Chris Knepper and Junji Shirota).

Sunday, June 27
Hambo howtos... Erik Hoffman makes it easy to learn this popular Swedish couple dance at a special late-afternoon class starting at 4pm at ECV. Chris Knepper provides the hambos and polsks.

& Following the hambo class, there'll be the regularly-scheduled East Bay Square/Contra, also at ECV, beginning at 7pm. Erik and Chris are joined by keyboardist extraordinaire Charlie Hancock.

Wednesday, June 30
Close out the month with contradancing, calling or playing. A fifth Wednesday means it's Open Band (led by Chris Knepper, Erik Hoffman and Charlie Hancock) and open caller night at GNC: call Erik at 510/444-4397 for more info or to sign up for a calli g slot.
