BET--Bethany United Methodist Church, 1268 Sanchez (at Clipper), San Francisco. 2nd Saturday English dance, 7:30pm.
ECV--El Cerrito Veterans' Hall, 6401 Stockton at Kearney, El Cerrito. 2nd and 4th Sundays East Bay Square/Contra dance, 7pm
FCC--Fairfax Community Church, 2398 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Fairfax. 4th Saturday contradances
FIN--Finn Hall, 1819 Tenth Street (near Hearst, off University), Berkeley. 2nd Friday contradances

Wednesday, November 3
The first contradance of the month is in Berkeley at GNC with caller Erik Hoffman and an Open Band led by Acoustic Light Orchestra (Laura Light (Charlottesville, VA), John Light, & Jeff Spero (Santa Monica))

And in San José, the English dance at SJS has the wonderful duo of Jody McGeen & Alan Winston leading the dance, with music by Kay Thorne & Stan Kramer.

Friday, November 5
It's a first Friday, so it's time for the (downtown) Palo Alto English dance at MT. Your series host Bob Fraley calls, with music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka) .

Saturday, November 6
The San Francisco Contra, at (of course) SF--Charlie Fenton calls traditional and recent dances, with the Acoustic Light Orchestra (Laura Light (Charlottesville, VA), John Light, & Jeff Spero (Santa Monica)).

Wednesday, November 10
A wonderful Berkeley English dance at GNC--series host David Newitt calling to a stunning quartet of musicians: Chuck Ward, Judy Linsenberg, Shira Kammen, & Danny Carnahan

Friday, November 12
The second Friday contra at FIN, with Kirston Koths calling to the driving, Irish sounds of Tipsy House (Jack Gilder, Chris Knepper and Junji Shirota).

Saturday, November 13
The little-known but much-appreciated San Francsico English dance at BET starts at 7:30 with Lise Dyckman teaching you all you need to know, and music by Kathrine Gardner, David Newitt, and Craig Johnson.

...and down in the South (south Palo Alto, that is) the contra at PA has Erik Hoffman calling to the wonderful old-timey and bluegrass tunes of Suzy's Floozies (Suzy Thompson, Maxine Gerber, & Kate Brislin).

Sunday, November 14
& The East Bay Square and Contra dance takes place at ECV (7pm starting time!) with the awesomely talented (and flexible!) David Newitt calling to the music of dotGals (Susan Sullivan, Dan & Karen Warrick, and Adam Cavan)

Wednesday, November 17
In Berkeley, at the contra at GNC, your series host Erik Hoffman calls, accompanied by an Open Band led by John Pedersen, Perry Fly, & Mike Drayton.

The third Wednesday San José English dancat at SJS! Jody McGeen & Alan Winston lead the dance, Kay Thorne & Stan Kramer play the tunes.

Friday, November 19
Friday Palo Alto English dance, at MT. Series host Bob Fraley calls, with series band Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer, Mark Daly and Paul Kostka) providing the music.

Saturday, November 20
The ever-popular San Francisco contra at SF... Andy Wilson calls to the decidedly Irish music of Tipsy House (Jack Gilder, Chris Knepper and Junji Shirota).

While on the English side of BACDS, there's the BACDS Fall Ball at "SMT". The afternoon workshop is taught by Bob Fraley to the music of Ruth Ann Fraley & Jon Berger, starting at 2:30 pm. Admission in Fall Ball price, or $6 for practice only.

"New Wine in Old Bottles," The Fall Ball itself, at "SMT". Lise Dyckman and The Vintage Players (Danny Carnahan, Charlie Hancock, Judy Linsenberg, & David Strong) $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Call Helena Ivatt at 510-655-1343 for more info.

Fourth Wednesday English in Berkeley at GNC. Alan Winston is your caller, with fine music by David Strong, David Newitt, & Charlie Hancock

Friday, November 26
Come dance away that stuffing at the San Francisco contra at SF... Charlie Fenton is your caller, traditional and not-so-traditional tunes by the renowned band The Contrabandits (Kathrine Gardner, Chris Knepper, Charlie Hancock, and Kit Nelson) . Beginners' orientation session at 7:30 for your out-of-town guests...

Saturday, November 27
An end of November tradition! It's the Thanksgiving Dessert Potluck in Palo Alto (at PA) with Jim Saxe and the finger-pickin' good bluegrass sound of The Earls (Ray Bierl, Carolyn Cirimele, Marty Cutler, and Mary Gibbons) . As always, bring a treat to share--but no turkey, please!

In Fairfax, at FCC the monthly contra features Tom Thoreau calling to the music of dotGals (Susan Sullivan, Dan & Karen Warrick, and Adam Cavan).

Berkeley's GNC is host to the experienced English countrydance, with David Newitt calling, and wonderful music by Charlie Hancock, Danny Carnahan, & Paul Kostka .

Sunday, November 28
& Missed Saturday's dances? Didn't want to dance English or drive to Palo Alto? Then come to ECV starting at 7pm and hear David Newitt call squares and contras this time, with music by Open Band led by The Earls (Ray Bierl, Carolyn Cirimele, Marty Cutler, and Mary Gibbons) . Be there or ... well, you know.
