Saturday, August 1
The San Francisco contra at SF, with Eric Black calling, and tunes provided by Ray Bierl, Kathrine Gardner and Daniel Steinberg.

Wednesday, August 5
Berkeley's GNC is the site for a contra featuring North Bay caller Dan Engle, with music provided by dotGals (Susan Sullivan, Karen Warrick, Kathy Hirsh, and Adam Cavan).

Friday, August 7
It's just barely the first Friday of the month, so head on down to Palo Alto (at the MT), for David Newitt leading the English country dance to the music of Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer) .

Saturday, August 8
At 7:30, the San Francisco English dance at BET. Genial David Newitt is the caller, with music by Kathrine Gardner, Kimberly McKittrick and Charlie Hancock.

At the decidedly southern end of Palo Alto, the contra at PA has Eric Black calling to the decidedly southern music of The Earls (Ray Bierl, Alan Senauke, Barb Swan, and Marty Cutler).

Sunday, August 9
& The East Bay Square/Contra starts at 7pm at ECV in El Cerrito... Jim Saxe calling to the tunes of those dotGals (Susan Sullivan, Karen Warrick, Kathy Hirsh, and Adam Cavan).

Wednesday, August 12
The second Wednesday Berkeley English dance features Alisa Dodson calling with music by the melodious trio of David Newitt, Judy Linsenberg and Charlie Hancock.

Friday, August 14
Berkeley second Friday contra at FIN; Kirston Koths calls, with music by Laurie Rivin, Daniel Steinberg, and Paul Kotapish.

Saturday, August 15
The San Francisco contra, featuring Charlie Fenton calling to the music of Laurie Andres, Kevin Carr and Charlie Hancock.

Wednesday, August 19
The contra at Berkley's NGC, Erik Hoffman calls to an Open Band led by Chuck Aronson, Bill Foss, and Joanne Weil.

Friday, August 21
The Palo Alto English dance at MT, with Bob Fraley calling to the music of Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer) .

Saturday, August 22
The monthly Fairfax contra at FCC--Stuart Moody calling to the music of Janette Duncan, Chris Carney and Roxanne Marie.

The Berkeley experienced English dance at GNC--Jody McGeen teaching, with music by Mark Carroll, David Strong and Judy Linsenberg. (The color is gold...)

Finally, the Palo Alto contra at PA has the unbeatable combo of caller Eric Black and music by the irrepressible Québecquasi (Kevin Carr, John Hamstra, Caroline Cirimele, Barbara Mendelsohn, Laurie Rivin, Daniel Steinberg).

Sunday, August 23
& The East Bay Square/Contra at El Cerrito's ECV starts at 7pm, and features Erik Hoffman calling to an Open Band led by Chris Knepper and Charlie Hancock.

Wednesday, August 26
The Berkeley English dance at GNC with a rare calling appearance by Alan Winston and tunes provided by Charlie Hancock, Dick Bagwell and David Strong.

Friday, August 28
It's the fourth Friday SF contra at SF, with Charlie Fenton calling to the well-rounded music of Squeaky Wheel (Jim Oakden, Charlie Hancock, & Chuck Aronson).

Saturday, August 29
The final contradance of the month, at PA, with Andy Wilson calling to Suzy's Floozies (Suzy Thompson, Maxine Gerber, & Kate Brislin).
