PlayFood: Fudge Brownies 2

4 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 cup shortening
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups sifted cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
powdered sugar

Grease 8x8 pan.  Preheat oven to 350.
Cream shortening.  Add sugar gradually (about 2 tablespoons at a time)
Cream until smooth and fluffy.
Stir in eggs then choclate
Sift in dry ingredients
Add nuts, stirring until free of flour streaks and is well blended
Pour into prepared pan.  Bake 20-30 minutes.

Warning:  Do not overbake.  Knife may not come clean.

Note:  Can be made half with and half without nuts.
