Location: This year we're at a new location. Instead of our usual spot in San Mateo, we're at the Arlington Community Church is located at 52 Arlington Ave, Kensington, CA 94707-1038, in the hills east of El Cerrito and north of Berkeley. The facility has restrooms (whew!), a kitchen, a drawing/card room for non-dance activities, changing areas, as well as some very beautiful surroundings. Oh yes, there's a dance floor, too! Remember, you'll have to take a break between the end of the workshop at 5p and the start of singing at 7:30p. Fortunately, there is dining in the local area. A nearby favorite are the variety of restaurants along Solano Ave. Of course, there's also a comprehensive list with maps that you can consult (especially if you're not familiar with the area). Just be sure to make it back in time for singing! Suggested Directions (you can also just check this Yahoo interactive area map):
From points South: head up to the I-80 interchange heading towards Sacramento (in the East Bay use I-580 or I-880 to get there; from San Francisco come across the Bay Bridge I-80). Look for the interchange that says I-80 East/I-580 West. Continue for almost 4 miles (I-580 split off) and proceed on I-80 East towards Sacramento/Vallejo. In El Cerrito, take the Potrero Ave exit, and turn right onto Potrero Ave. Turn right on San Pablo Ave, go about a mile, turn left onto Moeser Ln, continue almost a mile and a half to Arlington Blvd. Turn right, and continue as it becomes Arlington Avenue. The church will be on your right, with a parking lot opposite it on the left (up the hill). From points North and East (towards Vallejo or Sacramento): take I-80 West towards San Francisco. In El Cerrito, take the Cutting Blvd exit and turn left onto Cutting Blvd. Turn right on San Pablo Ave, go about a mile, turn left onto Moeser Ln, continue almost a mile and a half to Arlington Blvd. Turn right, and continue as it becomes Arlington Avenue. The church will be on your right, with a parking lot opposite it on the left (up the hill). From points North
and West (Marin county and further up the coast): get to San Rafael and take
I-580 East across the Richmond Bridge towards Oakland. After almost 11
miles, take the Bayview Ave exit and turn left onto Bayview Avenue.
Turn right onto Carlson Blvd, left onto Tehama Ave, and then right onto San
Pablo Ave. Go about a mile, turn left onto Moeser Ln, continue
almost a mile and a half to Arlington Blvd. Turn right, and continue as it
becomes Arlington Avenue. The church will be on your right, with a parking
lot opposite it on the left (up the hill). |
