BACDS December 2009 Electronic Mailing

BACDS sponsors English and American traditional dances in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is fun, relatively easy, community-oriented dancing with live music. All dances are taught, no partner is necessary, and first-timers are welcome unless otherwise noted.

The Avant Gardeners Xmas/New Year's tour

December 26, 2009 to January 2, 2010

The Avant Gardeners arrive in the Bay Area to provide fantastic tunes and tempos for our local dances.  The tour includes Palo Alto, Monterey, Berkeley, San Rafael, Hayward, Oakland, San Francisco, and finishes up in Petaluma.  Check out the flyer for details include the stellar list of callers for these dances.  Don't miss it!


New Year's Eve at the Palo Alto English -

Take the Cure - Elixir is coming to town

Have you heard about the new BACDS Spring Dance Weekend?  With parallel all-American and all-English dance tracks, you can do one or the other or mix it up at your choice.  We'll also be focusing on real workshops about style, technique, and those little flourishes to delight newcomer and experience dancers alike.  Check out the flyer, go to the website, and sign-up for the discussion list to help say what YOU want at camp.


Register for the Playford Ball

It's the season's high event for English Country Dance.  Celebrate the return of Brad Foster to the Bay Area for this event, and enjoy our new elegant location at the San Jose Women's Club.  And check out the pre-ball workshops on March 6, 7, and 14, as well as the "rehearsal" dance on March 26.  But wait - we have a special treat.  You can also read some private letters of correspondence about this elegant affaire.
