Promoting traditional English and American music and dance

East Bay Square Dance

Third Fridays every month (mostly)

Square dancing is for everyone!

Come on out for an Old-Time Square Dance in Berkeley.

We have live music at every dance.

All ages welcome. Beginners welcome. The caller teaches all of the dances right before we dance them.

Dress: casual. Bring dance shoes if you have them. No stiletto heels allowed.

This is an old-time or traditional square dance rather than a modern or club square dance. We do not have classes or levels. Square dancers of all stripes are welcome!

This is a queer-friendly event where you can dance any role you like.

This Dance:

Friday, December 19

Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar Street, Berkeley.

Caller: Evie Ladin

Band: Round Top String Band with Nick Lofaro, Rowan McCallister, Dan Kluger, Allegra Thompson, Dane Miller

Come on out for our Solstice Square Dance! This is the darkest time of year; wear yellow or gold to bring back the light! The caller uses gender-neutral role names. We accept cash and venmo. BYOB: You may bring beer and wine--no hard alcohol allowed. We are looking for folks to volunteer in exchange for free admission. Help us keep the square dance going! If you are interested, please email Lindsey at labrujatangoberkeley AT yahoo DOT com. Doors open at 7:45. Dancing:
