COVID continues to be with us. Although rates in Sonoma Country are currently in the CDC GREEN Zone, there is no way to know what community rates will be in December. The first two weeks in December after Thanksgiving saw Covid surges throughout the country in 2020 and 2021. The committee has chosen COVID policies to balance the safety of the community with enjoyment at camp. Strict Covid policies followed at Hey Days and Bay Area dances have resulted in Zero (reported) spread of Covid. We have based our policy on these experiences.
All Campers must show proof of basic vaccination/s and have received at least two boosters. We recommend getting a third booster if possible before Camp. Campers may email the registrar proof of vaccination prior to camp or show proof of vaccination at registration. No one will be admitted to camp without proof of vaccination. Vaccination card(s) or a photo of vaccination card(s) are acceptable.
All Campers must test negative for COVID-19 using a rapid antigen test within 6 hours of registration. You may show a dated photo of your negative test or take a test at registration. We will provide test kits at camp. We strongly encourage you to test yourself before traveling to camp, especially if you are flying. No one will be admitted to camp without demonstrating a negative test.
Well-fitting N-95 or equivalent (e.g., KN95) masks will be required at all times when in indoor spaces, except when actively playing a wind instrument or actively eating or drinking. By mutual consent, masking may be relaxed in common indoor spaces and shared sleeping spaces. We ask you to discuss masking in these common areas with your housemates and support the choices of the most risk adverse campers in those spaces. Staff musicians and teachers are not required to wear a mask when they are performing and physically distanced from other participants.
Food will be served in the dining hall and masking is required in the serving line, but not while eating. Food may be consumed inside or outside. There will be covered tents for eating outside.
If you are not comfortable eating food from the dining hall, you can choose to prepare meals in dorm kitchens. Please let us know by Nov 18 if you plan to prepare your own meals. There are some pots, pans, dishes and utensils in the dorm kitchens. Since there are a variety of eating spaces, it will be especially important to keep dorm kitchens clean and to dispose of all food items as directed.
