Nicolas Broadbridge's 2011 California TourThe Main Event - BACDS 2011 Fall Ball, "A Purcell Ball"BACDS is proud to have Nicolas Broadbridge as the caller and artistic director for its 17th annual Fall Ball event. Nicolas Broadbridge joins us from the UK, where he has his home in Scotland and where he leads English Country Dances, workshops and balls, at the Glasgow and Edinburgh Assemblies, and beyond. Besides calling, he is particularly known for his research, publications and recordings of historically significant collections of dances and their tunes. We're excited to have him with us for the Fall Ball to share his interpretations of dances set to tunes of Henry Purcell. The Fall Ball will be the highlight of Nicolas' tour, showcasing the Purcell theme. We are also very lucky to have a line-up of musicians with both the dance and Baroque sensibilities to bring dancing life to Purcell's melodies. Taken together, the Fall Ball and Nicolas' tour will be a true feast of dancing and musicial pleasure to look forward to in late Fall. But wait! There's more! |
