Fanciful FALL BALL November 19, 2016
History: The original Fall Ball was created in 1995 as a less formal alternative to the Playford Ball. The original committee was Karen Wetmore (later Gryciewicz), David Newitt, Helena Ivatt and Anne Miller-Bagwell. Here's some of what we've done in the past:

  • 2007 - "A Night at the Opera;" Kalia Kliban, caller

  • 2004 - "All the World's a Stage;" Sharon Green, caller
  • 2003 - "Hamilton's Around-O;" Bruce Hamilton, caller
  • 2002 - "A Movable Feast" - the ball moves, the fun doesn't; James Hutson, caller
  • 2001 - "A Tricentquinquagenary Celebration: a 350th Anniversary Salute to the Dancing Master" - a historical tour of Playford dances over the years; Jody McGeen, caller
  • 2000 - "A Roodman Awakening" - a showcase of Gary Roodman dances; Jenny Beer, caller
  • 1999 - "New Wine in Old Bottles" - modern reinterpretations of traditional dances; Lise Dyckman, caller
  • 1998 - "For Hume The Dance Calls" - a showcase of Colin Hume dances; Bob Fraley, caller
  • 1997 - "The Best of the Bay"- highlighting dances from local Bay Area composers; Alisa Dodson, caller
  • 1996 - "Oh P'Shaw 2" - in movie parlance: the sequel; David Newitt, caller
  • 1995 - "Oh P'Shaw" - a salute to Pat Shaw; David Newitt, caller
