Workshop Descriptions

How To Be A Perfect (Contra) Partner (Mary)

Sometimes subtle things differentiate the perfect dance partner from the one who's good, but not yet perfect. Practice the differences that make a difference while dancing to contras old and new.

We'll play around with ways to pump up the energy and add fun to the music while keeping it eminently danceable.

A session of non-stop couple dancing, including waltzes, polkas, schottisches, two-steps, maybe even a bit of Scandinavian, tango, zweifacher, swing dance, or bourree.

Silence is Golden: The Art of Teaching Without Words (Brad)

Brevity is great; learning to teach without words is better still. Discuss when to stop talking, teaching movement through movement, how timing through programming, teaching people to "watch" and "do" instead of "listen", and the "follow my example" method of teaching steps.
