Sunday, June 2
CEILIDH BACDS' new first Sunday ceilidh series returns to GNC. Alan Winston teaches you all you need to know to do this raucous English dance form (it's been described as England's answer to contradancing). Music by the wonderful (if obscurely-named) Uncle Jack's Tie-Dyed Ramblers (Rob Powell & Friends). Like all BACDS Sunday dances, this one runs from 7 to 10 pm.

Wednesday, June 5
Every Wednesday, there's dancing at GNC in Berkeley, tonight Erik Hoffman calls to an Open Band led by Barb Hansen, Stephanie Prousnitz, and Margaret Brunjes.

In Mountain View, the English dance at FLX features Jody McGeen & Alan Winston calling with music by Stan Kramer & Bill Jensen. Remember to bring along a pair of dance shoes; street shoes are not allowed in this hall.

At the Palo Alto contra at PA, Andy Wilson calls to the Southern sounds of Suzy's Floozies (Suzy Thompson, Maxine Gerber, & Kate Brislin).

Sunday, June 9
& COUPLE Don't go to El Cerrito, head to Marin county instead to SRF. A very special evening of dance with George Marshall and Wild Asparagus (Ann Percival, David Cantieni, George Marshall, Stuart Kenney, and Becky Tracy). For those of you who don't know them, George and Wild Asparagus hail from Western Massachussetts and are one of the hottest contra combos in the country. Note the special location for this night only: this is a special joint NBCDS/ BACDS event; couple dancing (and no, "COUPLE" doesn't mean you need to bring a partner!) 6:30 to 7:30, followed by (mostly) contras 7:30 to 10:30; members $11, non-members $13. Sorry, no special passes will be honored for this event.
