Wednesday, July 1
Start the month off with the contra in Berkeley at GNC. Andy Wilson will call, to the music of North Bay powerhouse band Stump-tail Dog (Dan Engle, Ray Frank, and Paul Donnelly).

Friday, July 3
The Palo Alto English dance, in the heart of downtown at MT. Bob Fraley leads the dance, to the music of Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer) .

Saturday, July 4
A special San Francisco contra at SF features dynamite caller Kathy Anderson and acoustical pyrotechnics by a hot quartet: Freyda Epstein, Laura Light, Pete Vigour and Daniel Steinberg.

Sunday, July 5 to Sunday July 12
, , SWING & More! Sierra Swing, BACDS' American dance week near Kings Canyon Park! For more info about this wonderful camp, call Patti Smolian at 510/215-2785.

Wednesday, July 8
The second Wednesday English dance takes place at GNC, with Alisa Dodson calling to the music of Craig Johnson, Danny Carnahan and friends.

Friday, July 10
The second Friday contra, at FIN in Berkeley, features Kirston Koths and the decidedly Irish sound of Tipsy House (Jack Gilder, Chris Knepper and Craig Johnson).

Saturday, July 11
The San Francisco English dance kicks off at 7:30pm at BET. Caller is Jean Causey, music by Stan and Susan Kramer and friends.

The Palo Alto contra--series host Eric Black calls to the music of Quasi-Québecquasi (Kevin Carr, Barbara Mendelsohn, Laurie Rivin and John Hamstra).

Sunday, July 12
& The East Bay Square/Contra at ECV serves up hot squares at 7 pm with Kathy Anderson, with music by Ray Bierl, Marty Cutler, and Mary Gibbons.

Wednesday, July 15
The Berkeley Contra at GNC for your mid-month dancing pleasure. Erik Hoffman with music by an Open Band led by Chris Knepper, Paul Kotapish and Kyle Thayer.

Friday, July 17
The third Friday downtown Palo Alto English dance at MT. Lise Dyckman calling, with music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer) .

Saturday, July 18
The San Francisco Contra at SF: Marianne Taylor, a wonderful caller from New Hampshire, with East Coast powerhouses Jonathan Jensen, Barbara Greenberg and Daniel Beerbohm.

Wednesday, July 22
The Wednesday English dance at GNC features Lise Dyckman calling to the fine music of Chuck Ward, Danny Carnahan, and Avis Minger.

Friday, July 24
That fourth Friday San Francisco contra at SF. Charlie Fenton calls to The Kozmonutz (Ray Bierl, Paul Kotapish, Craig Johnson).

Saturday, July 25
The Fairfax contra, at FCC, with Erik Hoffman and music by Chuck Aronson, Joanne Weil, and Bill Foss.

It's a fourth Saturday, so it's time for another experienced English country dance at GNC. The color is Purple, and Lise Dyckman calls, music by Charlie Hancock, Avis Minger and Danny Carnahan.

Finally, the Palo Alto contra at PA features Kirston Koths calling to hot southern music of The Full Frontal String Band (WB Reid, Ray Bierl, and Stefan Curl).

Sunday, July 26
& The ECV Square/Contra starts at 7pm: David Newitt calls, and an Open Band led by WB Reid and Kathrine Gardner.

Wednesday, July 29
It's Fifth Wednesday at GNC, and an open band/open callers' night. The band's led by The Full Frontal String Band (WB Reid, Ray Bierl, and Stefan Curl), to grab a caller's slot, contact Erik Hoffman at 510/444-4397 or erikthor@aol.com.

Friday, July 31
Close out the month with a 5th Friday Palo Alto English dance at MT. Series host Bob Fraley calls, with music by Nonesuch Country Dance Players (Ruth Anne Fraley, Susan and Stanley Kramer) .
